Fire talk: Sharing stories around the fire place
Have you ever noticed that universities have departments for hydrology and geology, but none for “pyrology”? Yet fire is essential to our cultural history and many ecosystems. During the Long Night of Sciences, we – an artist (Lisa Hoffmann, UdK), a geographer (Dr. Isabelle Desportes, Centre Marc Bloch) and an environmental sociologist (Marvin Heine, HU) – therefore set up a symbolic fireplace. Around our installation, we would like to share stories, texts and images from our artistic and scientific work as well as from your everyday life. The event can be held in German and English.

Tauchen Sie ein in die faszinierende Welt der Wissenschaft: An der Humboldt-Universität erwartet Sie in Berlin-Mitte, Adlershof und Dahlem ein buntes Programm - von Roboterfussball über Ozeane im Becherglas bis zum offenen Gewächshaus im Späth-Arboretum. In der Kinder-Uni untersuchen wir den Stadtlärm und zum Late-Night-Programm laden wir ins Hörsaalkino oder zum Mittelalterkonzert in die Heilig-Geist-Kapelle ein.
